Mercedes-Benz's Marco Polo Named Compact Camper Van of the Year 2015

STUTTGART -- January 16, 2015: Readers of the promobil trade journal have voted the new Marco Polo compact camper van of the year 2015. Mercedes-Benz took first place in the Compact Camper Van category, winning 41.8 percent of the votes. The award will be presented on January 17, 2015, at the international exhibition for caravanning, motoring, tourism (CMT) in Stuttgart.

It marks the first time that the Marco Polo has won the Compact Camper Van category. The vehicle impresses with its unique combination of cutting-edge design, maximum functionality, and suitability for daily use. The elegant design idiom, high-quality materials, bright color scheme, and discreet ambient lighting make the camper van interior look very valuable. In addition, the camper van has space for up to four passengers, features a fully equipped kitchenette, a wardrobe, and very comfortable beds. Thanks to its compact body and outstanding vehicle technology, the Marco Polo is as dynamic, comfortable, and economical as a Mercedes-Benz car. What’s more, it can be driven into all standard parking garages and car washes. The camper van’s many innovative driver assistance systems provide it with an exemplary level of safety. Two of these systems, Crosswind Assist and ATTENTION ASSIST, come as standard.

A further success achieves Mercedes-Benz Vans with the best base vehicles: there, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter took second place in the promobil reader’s choice poll, with 43.4 percent of the votes.

The promobil reader’s choice poll for the best camper van of the year was conducted for the 28th time. Readers could choose from a total of 220 models in 10 categories, ranging from compact camper vans to spacious liners.
