Michael Bettag to succeed Jürgen Langer in the Daimler Supervisory Board

Stuttgart, Germany – Michael Bettag (born on December 21, 1961) has been appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG representing the employees with effect as of January 1, 2015. The Stuttgart District Court (Registration Court) has accepted a request submitted by Daimler in this matter. Michael Bettag has been in the Works Council since 2002, and he has been Chairman of the Works Council of the sales and service outlet in Nürnberg since 2004. Since 2005, he has been also a member of the General Works Council of Daimler AG.

In the Supervisory Board, Michael Bettag succeeds to Jürgen Langer (born on November 7, 1954). Langer has been on the Works Council of the Frankfurt sales and service outlet since 1981, and a full-time member of the Works Council since 1984. In 1987, he became the chairman of the Works Council of the Frankfurt sales and service outlet. In 1996 he became a member of the General Works Council and since November 2001 he has been chairman of the branch committee of the General Works Council and chairman of the European Sales Working Group of the Euro Works Council. Jürgen Langer is to retire at the end of 2014, and will thus also step down as a member of the Daimler Supervisory Board representing the employees as of that date.
