Third Annual Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K Benefiting Childhood Cancer Research Returns To Maui On January 10

Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K Run/Walk to be held in conjunction with 2015 Hyundai Tournament of Champions PGA TOUR Golf Tournament

MAUI, HAWAII -- Dec. 9, 2014: Hyundai Hope On Wheels today announced it will return to Hawaii for the third annual Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K Run/Walk in Maui on Saturday, January 10 at 7:30 a.m. Hope On Wheels will kick-off its 2015 5K Run/Walk Series at Whalers Village in Lahaina benefiting children battling cancer in Hawaii. The event will be held in conjunction with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

"We are excited to bring our 5K Run/Walk back to Maui for the third year in a row and raise money for pediatric cancer programs in Hawaii," said Mickey Pong, Chairman of Hyundai Hope On Wheels Board of Directors. "As part of this event, Hope On Wheels will award a $75,000 Young Investigator Clinical Award to Kapi'olani Medical Center. Hope On Wheels is committed to supporting childhood cancer research nationwide and is honored to continue our partnership with Kapi'olani."

Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are invited to participate by either registering for the race or making a donation at HyundaiHopeOnWheels 5K. The registration price is $35 for adults participating in the 5K and $20 for kids ages 6-12 participating in the 5K and Sprint. On-site registration will be available at $40. All participants will receive a race running shirt and bib, a commemorative medal, chip timing and two (2) tickets to the Hyundai Tournament of Champions golf tournament in Kapalua. Immediately following the 5K, awards will be given to the top finishers. The event will also feature a family fun celebration that includes food, vendor booths and more.

For the fifth year consecutive year, Hyundai is the title sponsor of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions PGA TOUR golf tournament. The Tournament begins on Friday, January 9 and ends on Monday, January 12, 2015 at The Plantation Course at the Kapalua Resort in Maui.
