BOLOGNA, ITALY -- November 26, 2014: Last night, at the 32nd Turin Film Festival, British actor Eddie Redmayne was awarded the exclusive ‘Maserati Award’. The House of the Trident chose to award the young talent with a commemorative statue of Bologna’s Fountain of Neptune; the monument which inspired Mario Maserati to create the brand’s famous Trident logo, which one hundred years later continues to be the distinctive symbol of the marque.

Representing Maserati, Luca Dal Monte, Director of External Relations and Press, presented Eddie Redmayne with the ‘Maserati Award’ for Best Breakthrough Actor. The young actor was awarded the accolade for his performance in the film “The Theory of Everything”, in which he demonstrated extraordinary versatility.

After the much anticipated prize-giving, the film, which sees Redmayne in the role of a young Stephen Hawking, was screened in an exclusive preview.

In the year that sees Maserati celebrate its centenary, the luxury automotive manufacturer is in rapid expansion. Present in more than 60 markets worldwide, Maserati confirms its role as international ambassador of excellence and is delighted to recognise an actor whose exceptional talent has been acknowledged by Hollywood who awarded him the title of ‘Hollywood Breakout Performance Actor’.

As part of Maserati’s role as Main Sponsor of the Turin Film Festival international stars enjoyed an exclusive Maserati chauffeur service. Eddie Redmayne and the film producer Eric Fellner also travelled in style in the luxurious flagship model; the Quattroporte GTS, equipped with a powerful V8 Twin Turbo 3.8 litre petrol engine with 530hp made by Ferrari exclusively for Maserati.
