MARYSVILLE, OH -- Nov 21, 2014: Honda today unveiled the newest associate profile in its popular 12-part What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series. Freddie Wynn, senior production manager at Honda Power Equipment Mfg. (HPE) in Swepsonville, North Carolina, is featured not only for his commitment to creating quality products, but also for his dedication to making his community a better place to live.

Wynn was one of the first associates hired at HPE in 1985 and began his career as an assembly-line associate before working his way into a management position. Whether it's on or off the job, Wynn—who is also sergeant at arms for his local Civitan Club—prides himself in his ability to turn challenges into opportunities for learning and growth.

"If someone needs help or advice, we're all willing to shift hats and do whatever is needed to ensure a positive outcome," Wynn said.

The teamwork philosophy to which Wynn adheres at Honda is also apparent in his volunteer role with the Hawfields Civitan Club, which is a nonprofit organization that supports a number of causes, such as youth sports, Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina and Special Olympics. "Honda gives back and allows all of its associates to serve in the community," Wynn added.

For the annual Haunted Forest, the Civitan Club's largest fundraiser, Wynn builds the "haunts" and operates the spooky sound system. Money raised from the Haunted Forest benefits the local community as well as the Civitan International Research Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which provides resources for children with developmental disabilities.

The What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series focuses on Honda's commitment to innovation, inclusion, a youthful spirit and respect for the individual—core tenets of Honda's approach to business that work equally well in the community. In addition, the videos spotlight the diverse career opportunities that exist within Honda, while also showcasing inspiring ways these associates engage in their communities.

The What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda series will run on Honda's YouTube channel at Honda YouTube Channel.
