App Integration Enables Drivers to Easily Stream or Listen to Downloaded Audiobooks on the Road

TORONTO, ON -- Nov. 18, 2014: Audiobooks.com, the only audio books service that allows members to stream and download audio books, announced today that the Audiobooks.com app is now compatible with the Jaguar Land Rover InControl™ Apps platform. InControl Apps allows users to easily stream and download audio books from the smartphone app using the vehicles' touch-screen.

"We're thrilled to work with a forward-thinking manufacturer like Jaguar Land Rover to give drivers new entertainment options in their connected vehicles," said Sanjay Singhal, CEO of Audiobooks.com. "Approximately 70% of Audiobooks.com users access audio books via mobile devices, and many listen to audio books during their daily commutes. Jaguar Land Rover drivers can now use the InControl Apps system to create an even greater experience when listening to their favorite audio books."

Internet connectivity is quickly becoming a standard feature in vehicles, and Audiobooks.com expects its relationship with Jaguar Land Rover to be the first of many as more car manufacturers look for ways to deliver popular onboard services to drivers. According to Juniper Research, nearly 100 million connected cars will be on the road by 2016. With an average commute ranging from 25 to 55 minutes, drivers can use that time to catch up on their reading by listening to audiobooks.

Current Audiobooks.com customers or new users who drive a Jaguar or Land Rover with the InControl Apps system can get the free Audiobooks.com app at the Apple App Store or Google Play. Audiobooks.com offers more than 55,000 titles, including popular bestsellers like Gillian Flynn's "Gone Girl," Nicholas Sparks' "Best of Me" and James Patterson's "Private Down Under."

Audiobooks.com is the only audio books service that gives listeners access to bestsellers in the on-demand streaming format today's consumers prefer. In addition, Audiobooks.com provides a cloud bookmarking feature that lets users switch from mobile devices to desktops or laptops without losing their place.
