Presented at a recent General Motors dinner in Detroit, the award recognizes top-performing suppliers who meet or exceed a stringent set of criteria focusing on quality performance and have achieved the cross-functional support of GM's entire organization.

"GM's Supplier Quality Excellence Award is an honor we strive to achieve each and every year," said Dr. Marc Rosenmayr, CEO for HELLA Electronics in North and South America. "It recognizes our commitment to operational excellence and demonstrates our dedication to supplying GM with world-class products of the very highest quality."

The timely delivery of high-quality products, smooth production processes and closely managed, in-plant quality-control systems were among the various criteria considered by GM in selecting award recipients.

"These suppliers have demonstrated their commitment to quality excellence and their outstanding performance is essential to GM's efforts to provide its customers with the best products and services in the industry," said Sheri Hickok, GM executive director Supplier Quality.

HELLA's 174,000-square-foot plant in Flora has 304 employees and produces a variety of high-tech, high-volume automotive components and systems, including memory-seat modules, accelerator-pedal sensors, rain-and-light sensors, contactless position sensors, sunroof control modules and vacuum pumps, as well as relays and flashers.
