MILTON KEYES, UK -- July 5, 2014: SKODA has recorded its best ever six-month sales period in the UK, with a staggering 39,176 new cars registered from January to June.

Compared to a figure of 32,384 units for the same period last year, it means growth of 21% and gives the brand a market share of 3.0%.

Strong demand for Skoda’s range of versatile vehicles during June made a key contribution to the success. The brand registered 6,477 new cars last month, up from 6,361 in 2013.

Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK, commented: “This is a thrilling result for the first half of the year and proves that as a company we are supplying what people want – practical, smart and value-for-money cars that deliver on every level.”

The Skoda Fabia was the most popular model during the past six months, with sales of 6,429 Hatch and 2,485 Estate. The Yeti was close behind at 6,869 units. The ŠKODA Citigo, Octavia Hatch and Octavia Estate each contributed more than 5,000 sales to the total.
