Harry Treadaway and the Vauxhall Ampera
June 4, 2014: Harry Treadaway, British actor, best known for his role starring beside Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger is now driving a top-of-the-range Ampera Electron.
"Given the choice, why wouldn't you drive a car that can go further without stopping, cost less to drive and is better for the environment? It seems the obvious and only choice if we want to look after our planet." said Harry Treadaway.
The Vauxhall Ampera has a battery range of between 25-50 miles and the Ampera can be charged by a 240V three point plug on a separate circuit in your home. The Ampera has a small range-extending generator, powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine, which intervenes to provide up to an additional 300-plus mile range. At all times, the Ampera’s wheels are electrically driven, setting it apart from hybrid vehicles.
“It is great to have such a young, talented actor driving a Vauxhall Ampera,” said Tim Tozer, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director. “Harry will be able to prove how easy it is to live with an extended range electric vehicle, showing innovation at its best.”
Harry Treadaway is starring in Sky Atlantic’s newest drama series which launched on 20th May, Penny Dreadful where he plays Dr. Victor Frankenstein alongside Eva Green and Timothy Dalton. Harry is also known for his roles in British films, Brothers of the Head, Control and Fish Tank.
The award winning vehicle is well equipped with voice activated satellite navigation featuring street level mapping for 20 European countries, audio/video DVD player, hard drive device with 30GB music file capacity and Bose ‘Energy Efficient Series’ sound system.
Ampera pricing starts at £28,750 on-the-road (including a £5,000 government grant) for the Positiv model. The car is available through a network of 26 specialist Vauxhall dealers and is covered by the manufacturer’s industry-leading Lifetime Warranty with a separate 8 year warranty on the battery.
