FIAT Professional is celebrating another award success following the announcement of the FIAT Fiorino as “Best Light Van” in the 2014 Van Fleet World Honours, the third successive year that it has claimed the prestigious award.

The FIAT Fiorino was singled out by the Van Fleet World judges for its versatility and capacity – it has a payload of up to 660kg and a load volume of up to 2.5 cubic metres (2.8m3 when equipped with the optional folding passenger seat) – as well as its low running costs. Thanks to its advanced MultiJet II turbo-diesel engines, the FIAT Fiorino returns up to 65.7 MPG on the combined cycle, while also benefiting its users with long service intervals and low repair costs.

For 2014, FIAT Fiorino customers also have the possibility of opting for the new Sportivo version, which builds on the high specification of the Tecnico model by adding alloy wheels, Sportivo side-stripes and an engine power upgrade to 95hp with no fuel economy or emissions penalties. As with Tecnico versions, air conditioning; Blue&Me™ connectivity with a TomTom satnav dock; front fog lights and parking sensors are also standard, making the FIAT Fiorino Sportivo amongst the best equipped and best value models in its segment at just 9,695*.

According to Dan Gilkes, Editor, Van Fleet World: “While there have been a number of car-derived launches in the last year, none matches the versatility and load-carrying capabilities of the FIAT Fiorino. The addition of enhanced traction versions of the Fiorino - with Traction+ grip control and standard Mud & Snow tyres - simply adds to its versatility, offering operators who regularly have to cope with poor weather conditions a relatively cost-effective alternative.”

John Kendall, Managing Editor, Van Fleet World, added: “Its high payload and low running costs gives the FIAT Fiorino enduring appeal. If you need a light van, the versatile FIAT Fiorino is hard to beat.”

Francesco Russiello, Marketing Manager at FIAT Professional UK, commented: "We are delighted that the Van Fleet World judges have once again chosen the FIAT Fiorino as the top vehicle in this increasingly important and competitive segment. To keep the Fiorino in front, as with every product in our range, we are constantly improving all aspects of the ownership experience and with the new Sportivo models we feel we’ve got an irresistible product for the owner-operator or small enterprise that really wants to make a statement!”

The Van Fleet World Honours awards are open to all motor manufacturers and the judging process combines the expert opinion of the Van Fleet World editorial team with data provided by a number of leading leasing companies and fleet advisors. They are presented annually to those motor manufacturers, service companies and individuals who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector.
