Citroën does the double in Trade Van Driver Awards 2014

Citroën

April 30, 2014: Citroën has secured a double win in the 2014 Trade Van Driver Magazine Awards. Magazine editor, Matthew Eisenegger, presented the awards for Best City Van (Citroën Nemo) and Best Large Trades Van (Citroën Relay) on press day at the Commercial Vehicle Show (NEC, 29 April - 1 May).

In addition, Citroën and Teletrac, a Trafficmaster company, have together been awarded the Vehicle Security Award for the Citroën/Trafficmaster Smartnav and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking package. This unique telematics system is fitted as standard to all Citroën Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel vans.

Matthew Eisenegger commented: “The Trade Van Driver Magazine Awards are unique in that they are judged by an expert panel made up of journalists at the magazine and readers who use light commercial vehicles as part of their business. The Trade Van Driver Awards recognise those manufacturers, who in the opinion of the judges, offer the very best to retail van buyers.”

In awarding the Citroën Nemo the Best City Van accolade, the Trade Van Driver Magazine Awards judges, said: “The Citroën Nemo broke new ground when it was first launched in 2008. It continues to impress trade users with its ‘big van’ attributes and low cost of ownership. It’s a delightful vehicle to drive too, with plenty of ‘fun’ dialled in to the handling experience.”

Explaining why the Citroën Relay is the Best Large Trade Van, the judges, said: “Traders who need a large van just love the Relay. It has good looks, a reasonable front end price, it’s frugal to use and it’s comfortable. Users also get that Citroën/Trafficmaster Smartnav and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking telematics package as standard – it’s the icing on the cake.”

The awards judges also reflected on their selection of the Teletrac (a Trafficmaster company) system as a joint-winner of the prestigious Vehicle Security Award, saying: “Citroën teamed up with Trafficmaster some years ago to offer free sat-nav and stolen tracking units in its vans. The units are now standard on nearly all Citroën LCVs and will prove a Godsend to trade users, with a variety of functions available to help them run their businesses more safely and cost-effectively.”

Jeremy Smith, Citroën’s Head of Commercial Vehicles & Business Sector Operations, remarked: “We are extremely pleased with our multiple-award-winning success in the 2014 Trade Van Driver Magazine Awards. These awards recognise both the excellence of the Citroën LCV product range and the effectiveness of the Citroën/Trafficmaster Smartnav and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking package in boosting security, safety and productivity.”
