BYD will announce G5, Tang and ’542 Technology’ at Beijing Auto Show

2014 BYD E6

BEIJING--April 17, 2014: he 13th Beijing International Automobile Exhibition, 2014 is fast approaching. At its press conference at 11am on 20th April on the stand No E301, BYD will unveil a new compact sedan ‘G5′ and the revolutionary plug-in hybrid electric SUV ‘Tang’. In addition, BYD will release the world exclusive ’542 Technology’ for the first time.

The 542 technology aims to set the standard for key performance of upcoming new energy cars. All future BYD hybrids will meet these performance goals where 5 stands for a 0 to 100km time of around 5 seconds, 4 equals 4 wheel drive (4WD) and 2 means no more than 2 litres of fuel consumed in the first 100km.

The traditional standards for power and fuel consumption will be once again redefined and using these performance achievements all BYD hybrids will be able to overtake most hybrids produced by the traditional Western and Japanese brands.

Tang: Tri-motor Dual-mode and full electric 4WD

Tang is the first model to conform to the 542 technology concept. Tang is equipped with a tri-motor – so an internal combustion engine plus two electric motors work together to deliver a hi-performance electric 4WD with powerful sports car-like acceleration from 0 to 100Km/h in merely 4.9 seconds! You cannot miss the unveiling.

BYD G5: An intelligent compact sedan

BYD’s new sedan, the G5, is a gasoline car with a sporty look and well defined styling, providing spacious interior accommodation. Equipped with intelligent technology, G5 demonstrates BYD’s strength in advanced information technology by featuring a variety of new functions.

In addition to the Tang and G5, BYD will also be launching a multi-talented SUV– the S7. S7 is planning to hit the market in the second half of 2014. A brand new F3, a new charging post and an innovative 3D instrument display will also attract your attention on the BYD stand.

BYD is the leading new energy company in the auto field and will constantly be bringing new surprises to the industry. Go to our stand in Hall E3 to find out more!
