MADISON HEIGHTS, MI--March 24, 2014: WHY: With the looming deadline to reach the 2025 Corporate Average Fuel Economy Standard of 54.5 miles per gallon, now is the time for the automotive industry to lighten up. There certainly have been some advancements in using aluminum, carbon fiber, magnesium, plastic and high-strength steel, but more new materials come with more challenges.
