SYDNEY – Feb 5, 2014: Expanding its high profile sporting personality partnerships, Hankook Tyre Australia has formed an association with Victor Bray’s Team Bray Racing, and its entertainment division’s two V8 burnout demonstration cars.

A living legend and icon of Australian drag racing, Victory Bray has won six national Top Doorslammer drag racing championships, while his son Ben is already on his way to matching his dad’s score, with three national championships.

Hankook Tyre Australia has partnered with Team Bray Entertainment (TBE) for a very unique arrangement, with Team Bray attempting to burn through as many Hankook tyres as possible, creating a spectacular show along the way.

Ben Bray made the debut of the new DeWalt 1963 Corvette burnout car, as official on-track entertainment at the 2013 Bathurst 1000, joined by his father in his iconic 1957 Chevy burnout car. TBE has a long history in burnout shows, with Victor adopting it in the early 1990s, before building his first bespoke burnout car in 1995.

The Corvette’s subsequent event was the 27th Summernats car festival, ACT, in January, where the yellow Corvette was invited to open the burnout competition, a tradition long-held by father Victor.

Throughout 2014, both the Corvette and the Chevy will also take lucky passengers – chosen at each event - for a wild ride, experiencing first-hand the sensory overload of 2000hp produced by the supercharged and fuel injected 8.7-litre V8 – an engine taken from Victor’s first competition drag car, along with the unique experience of being engulfed in Hankook tyre smoke.

As the Brays travel Australia-wide for their drag racing schedule, their two B-double transport trucks will also run exclusively on Hankook truck tyres.

The TBE burnout cars will also be showcased at a number of high-profile motoring events, such as the Top Gear Festival, Townsville, Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast V8 Supercar events, with both cars promoting and smoking Hankook tyres.

“It was very exciting to debut the new DeWalt burnout car at the hallowed ground of Mt Panorama,” explained Victor. “The new Corvette and its striking paint scheme were certainly celebrated by the fans. And we can’t wait to show the rest of Australia what we do.”

Specialists of social media, Team Bray Racing has its website with regular news and report updates on both its racing and burnout programmes, along with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and mobile app links.
