Subaru Canada Sets Blistering Pace with Unprecedented January Sales

Subaru witnesses January sales high, toppling 2,000 units per month for the first time in company history. All regions mark new sales records, yielding 27.9 percent growth overall. Forester and BRZ enjoy best January ever, with increased sales of 141.2 and 2.4 percent respectively.

MISSISSAUGA, ON--Feb. 3, 2014: Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is thrilled to announce a new record of skyrocketing sales in what is typically a tough month. For the first time in its history, January sales sailed past the 2,000-unit per month mark with an impressive 2,319 units sold. With results up 27.9 percent over last January, Subaru is laying the groundwork for another stellar year.

Across the board, all regions registered new records with Quebec sales up 12.7 percent over the same period last year, while Western region results rose by 31.6 percent. Ontario netted a sizeable increase of 37.7 percent over January of 2013, but Atlantic Canada raised the bar with impressive sales growth of 49.5 percent.

Breaking the numbers down further, the award-winning Forester - which puts the "Sport" back into SUV - sold 808 units to realize its best January on record with results up an enormous 141.2 percent. The BRZ, Subaru's nimble, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe, also celebrated its best January ever with sales up 2.4 percent over the same time last year. Impreza, Legacy and WRX/WRX STI contributed to Subaru's sales growth as well with increases of 32.3, 25.5 and 10.3 percent, respectively.
