BMW Group Australia welcomes former Australian Rugby Captain Stirling Mortlock as its Latest Brand Ambassador
MELBOURNE – Jan 23, 2014: BMW is already a proud sponsor of the Melbourne Rebels so it was a natural choice to invite the Foundation Rebels Captain and current Melbourne Rebels board member into the BMW family.
Like BMW’s premium brand and wide-ranging line-up of driver oriented vehicles, Stirling has a well-deserved reputation for peak performance and athleticism. No stranger to achievement and high performance his professional rugby career spanned 15 years proving himself as one of Australia’s best and most decorated Rugby legends.
In 2012 Stirling retired from rugby and was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia(AM) for service to Rugby, in particular as a long standing Captain of the Wallabies. Since retiring from playing rugby Stirling has now moved from the sporting arena into the corporate world.
"BMW is focused on providing the ultimate driving enjoyment and leading the way in automotive technology and development – in other words, striving to be the best - so we have a great deal in common with the way Stirling Mortlock has operated throughout his career,” said Toni Andreevski, general manager of marketing of BMW Group Australia.
Stirling Mortlock who is driving a BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo said “I am very excited to be affiliated with the BMW brand. I have always enjoyed the sporty look and feel of a BMW not to mention the way they handle and perform. I am loving BMW’s involvement in my journey.”
