NEW ORLEANS--Jan. 16, 2013: More than ten thousand women went from speechless to on their feet roaring with cheers of approval as Mary Kay unveiled the new BMW 320i as an addition to its beauty fleet. The announcement is one of the biggest and loudest in Mary Kay’s 50 year history and took Independent Beauty Consultants by surprise at the Company’s annual Leadership Conference held in New Orleans.

The sleek BMW 320i joins the iconic Mary Kay pink Cadillac and the fleet of Mary Kay Career Car options available to top-performing, qualifying Mary Kay Independent Sales Directors. The career cars continue to serve as a symbol of status and achievement within the Mary Kay independent sales force.

“When you think of BMW you think of sophistication, luxury, safety and class but overall, you think of performance,” said Sara Friedman, Vice President of U.S. Marketing for Mary Kay Inc. “These traits align beautifully with Mary Kay. By adding the BMW 320i to the Mary Kay Career Car program, we are providing a new kind of elegance and style to the top-performing Independent Beauty Consultants, while inspiring them to achieve new goals in their Mary Kay businesses.”

Since 1969, the pink Cadillac has been the highest symbol of success within the independent sales force and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. The BMW 320i replaces the Mary Kay Ford Mustang launched at Mary Kay’s annual Seminar conference in 2011. Prized by drivers around the world, the BMW 320i has received numerous accolades.

Leadership Conference celebrates the success of the company’s independent sales force during two back-to-back conferences and recognizes them for their achievements, while also providing education, inspiration and motivation for the year ahead. Mary Kay holds its Leadership Conference every year in a different U.S. city. This year, Mary Kay celebrates its 40th Leadership Conference at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from January 12-18, providing an economic impact of $12.2 million to the city. #MKLeadership
