Volkswagen Golf receives Cars of the Year award from Australian New Car Buyer Magazine

ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – Jan 8, 2014: Continuing its run of local and international acclaim, Volkswagen’s seventh-generation Golf has started 2014 with claiming another victory, receiving a Cars of the Year award from Australian New Car Buyer magazine.

The award, which recognises the best new cars of 2013, is yet another accolade in the Golf 7’s already crowded trophy cabinet.

Australian New Car Buyer magazine lauded the all-new Golf, stating: “The more firmly-suspended, lighter MkVII Golf handles better than its predecessors, with an almost sporty feel in the way it points accurately into corners, stays relatively flat and grips with authority.”

Volkswagen’s seventh generation Golf has already been named in 2013 World Car Of The Year, European Car of the Year, Japanese Car of The Year, Scottish Car of The Year and New Zealand Car of the Year. Locally, the Golf 90TSI Comfortline received Carsguide’s coveted Car of The Year award, Wheels magazine’s Gold Star Value award for the 90TSI, and Motoring.com.au’s Family Car of the Year Under $30k.
