VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Jan 6, 2014: Renault has finished 2013 on a high with a record sales result of 7016 vehicles. This is the highest result since the brand returned to Australia and is an increase of 40% over 2012, the previous record.

In its first four months of sales, the new Clio, the first ground-up vehicle from Renault’s Senior Vice President of Design Laurens van den Acker, was a standout performer with 599 vehicles finding new homes.

The Koleos SUV was also a strong performer for the brand with a total of 1,639 vehicles sold and an increase of 47% over 2012. Megane continued to be a pillar model for Renault in Australia with 1,242 vehicles sold, an increase of 10% over 2012.

Once again, Renault’s Light Commercial Vehicle range continues to attract new business customers in Australia with a total of 2,299 vehicles sold – an increase of 89% over 2012. The standout performer was the Renault Trafic with 1,125 vehicles sold, an increase of 160%.

Justin Hocevar, Managing Director Renault Australia, said: “In 2013 we have continued our focus on sustainable business growth in Australia and I am pleased we are continuing to attract more customers to the Renault brand than ever before.

“Over the past three years we have focused on establishing the foundations of a strong brand with the introduction of a 5 year/unlimited kilometre warranty on our passenger cars, increased warranty periods on our commercial vehicles, the introduction of Renault Financial Service and Renault Insurance, and Capped Price Servicing across the Renault range. In addition we have supported our expansion with strong retail campaigns and were the first brand to introduce 0% finance to the Australian market.

“We have also focused on building our dealer network and now have 37 authorised dealers across the country to ensure that we are conveniently located for new customers to join the Renault family.

“2014 promises to be another strong year for Renault in Australia. It will be our first full year of the new Clio range, including the performance icon Clio RS. In addition we will introduce the new Captur, our light SUV, in mid-2014, another all-new model which we are confident will bring more new customers to the Renault brand,” said Hocevar.
