FAIRFIELD, CA--Dec. 11, 2013: Fairfield, California's Auto Mall is revving up the local economy with sales up 32 percent compared to the same period last year. Dealerships include a mix of luxury and top-name brands including Nissan, Toyota, Infiniti, Ford, Mitsubishi, Honda, Mercedes-Benz and the recently opened Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Also new to the Auto Mall is CarMax, which has 17 locations in California. The Fairfield location is its only one in the San Francisco Bay Area with a 29,000 square foot store at 2955 Auto Mall Parkway on more than 13 acres, previously occupied by a Dodge dealership and a Chrysler Jeep Ram Kia Dealership. Fairfield's economic development division assisted CarMax in site selection and negotiations.

"The Auto Mall has seen an uptick in business in 2013, with growth expected to continue in 2014," says Rahim Hassanally, owner of Momentum Auto Group, which owns several Auto Mall dealerships.

In addition to new Auto Mall dealerships, Airstream opened in May 2013 at 2400 Cordelia Road on a site with over 100,000 square feet of floor space along with an outdoor area. Fairfield is the second Bay Area location for Airstream. There is also a Gilroy dealership.

Auto Mall Space Available

With approximately 14 acres of Auto Mall property currently available, there is space for new dealerships.

"Fairfield's Auto Mall is situated halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. The freeway access and high visibility off of Interstate 80 provide dealers with a fantastic location to do business," says Hassanally.

The level of business success the Auto Mall provides is evidenced by dealerships' sales figures including those of Fairfield's Ford dealership, which is one of the largest in volume in Northern California.
