Kia Motors global sales up 1.8% in November

SEOUL- Dec 9, 2013: Kia Motors Corporation has announced its global sales figures (export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants) for passenger cars, recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles for November 2013, recording a total of 238,167 units sold. This figure represents a 1.8% year-on-year increase compared to the same month of 2012.

In November, Kia posted a year-on-year sales increases in North America (8.9%, 50,921 units sold), Europe (6.1%, 49,179 units sold), general markets (4.8%, 43,241 units sold) and China (1.0%, 55,874 units sold). Cumulatively through the first eleven months of 2013, Kia has posted global sales of 2,537,466 units for a 1.6% year-on-year gain, with China and Europe leading the way with growth of 14.7% (526,525 units sold) and 3.3% (546,298 units sold), respectively.

Kia’s bestselling model in overseas markets for the month of November was the Sportage compact CUV with 38,355 units sold. The B-segment Rio (known as ‘K2’ in China) closely followed with 38,056 units delivered, while the C-segment Cerato (known as ‘Forte’ in some markets), Optima D-segment sedan and the midsize Sorento CUV followed with 32,399, 18,869 and 16,597 units sold, respectively.
