National Car Rental Teams with Chevrolet on 2014 Impala Test-Drive Promotion

ST. LOUIS--Dec. 5, 2013: National Car Rental and Chevrolet are offering a two-month 2014 Impala Test-Drive Promotion to National's Emerald Club ExecutiveŽ and Executive EliteŽ members. The new Impalas are available to these members at the top 20 U.S. airports in the Executive Section of National's "Emerald Aisle" – an exclusive section of the lot where members can select any vehicle as long as they reserve a mid-sized car.

As part of the promotion, Emerald Club members who live in Phoenix, Atlanta and select New York, Connecticut and New Jersey counties may choose to rent the 2014 Impala and then receive a weekend test drive of another 2014 Impala when they return home, courtesy of Chevrolet. The test-drive promotion runs through January 31, 2014.

"One of the reasons we chose National as our partner for this program is the opportunity for exposure. The customer base and extensive network of locations give the 2014 Chevrolet Impala a very personal introduction to drivers," said Jon Hahn, Impala marketing manager for Chevrolet. "This program gives National's customers access to an extended test drive of our newly redesigned 2014 Impala, and we look forward to hearing their feedback on all the new features and advanced technology that make the 2014 model so special."

A recent Polk study commissioned by Enterprise Holdings, the owner and operator of National Car Rental as well as the Alamo Rent A Car and Enterprise Rent-A-Car brands, found that customers who rent a car from National's airport locations are 45 percent more likely to purchase a new vehicle within six months of their rental than the average U.S. consumer.

The study covered 23 million individual renters over a 12-month period, and strongly indicates that many car rental customers are using their rentals to experience new makes and models. For example, of the customers who purchased a vehicle they had rented, 77 percent, on average, bought a different make and model than what they already owned.

"Offering our frequent business renters access to the critically acclaimed 2014 Chevy Impala is just one example of our commitment to work with our manufacturer partners to provide a wide selection of vehicles that meet and exceed our customers' expectations," said Rob Connors, assistant vice president of brand marketing at National Car Rental.

He added, "Our partnership with Chevrolet to offer one of America's best-selling, full-size sedans to Emerald Club's most frequent renters gives high potential car buyers exposure to the new 2014 Impala's design and technology so they can 'try before they buy.'"

The fully redesigned 2014 Chevy Impala has recently won "absolute best in the class" praise from Consumer Reports and the Cars.com/USA Today/MotorWeek "Full Size Sedan Challenge" by winning the challenge that pitted seven sedans against each other in a series of extensive expert and consumer testing. The vehicles were tested for overall features, comfort, driving ability and fuel mileage.
