BOSTON and CHICAGO--Dec. 5, 2013: Zipcar, Inc., the world's leading car sharing network, today announced it has launched service at Chicago's O'Hare International and Midway airports, bringing the total number of airports that offer Zipcar to 26. To celebrate this milestone Zipcar is offering special pricing – $99 for a two-day reservation – at participating airport locations until December 21st.

Zipcar's convenient airport locations, self-service experience and all-inclusive pricing offer a fresh and welcome level of convenience, comfort and efficiency. With Zipcar, travelers can be off the plane and on the road in no time flat. Zipcar's $99 pricing for a two-day reservation includes parking in a reserved spot for easy pick-up and return, 180 free miles per day, insurance and best of all, gas. More information about participating locations is available at ZipCar Takeoff.

"Since many of our Zipsters think about our service only where they live and work, this promotion is designed to remind them Zipcar convenience is available when they travel," said Zipcar President Mark Norman. "We're committed to bringing our 'wheels when you want them' service to wherever our members want to be."

Avis Car Rental invented the on-airport car rental business in 1946 and today, parent company Avis Budget Group continues to be a leader in the industry. Zipcar has benefitted from Avis Budget Group's vast network of airport locations and relationships across the country, offering Zipcar service at airports within days of the two companies coming together earlier this year.

Today, Zipcar is at 26 airports including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago (Midway and O'Hare), Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, London (London City and Heathrow), Los Angeles, Myrtle Beach, Newark, New York (JFK and LaGuardia), Oakland, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Carlos, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Toronto and West Palm Beach. Zipcar plans to add additional airports before the end of the calendar year.

A wide variety of Zipcars, including Toyota Prius, Ford Escape and BMW 3-series models, are located in Zipcar-branded parking spaces within the Avis Car Rental facility at most airports. Zipsters can hit the road immediately after exiting a flight, without any paperwork, lines or extra fees, and enjoy additional time-saving amenities such as electronic toll passes (where available). The return is just as fast, since there's no requirement to return the car with a full tank of gas and members simply zip right into a reserved parking spot.

"The addition of Zipcars at airports has made a huge difference in the way I travel," said Zipcar member Melissa Yurasits. "A Zipcar at LAX allowed me to get out of the airport during a long layover. I was able to start my honeymoon a little early instead of being trapped inside the airport terminal."

Zipcars in airport locations can be reserved by all Zipcar members ages 21 and up, including residents of those areas near the airport locations and those traveling to the airport. Zipcar vehicles travel round trip, so drivers must pick up and return to the same location.

Typically, the cost to reserve Zipcar vehicles in airport locations ranges between $9-$12 per hour or between $69-$89 per day, depending on the location, type of vehicle and the membership plan of the Zipster reserving the vehicle. Reservations for all cars are available today and more information on Zipcar's airport locations can be found at ZipCar Airport. More information on joining Zipcar as an individual or business can be found on the website at ZipCar.
