IEEE Connected Vehicles Conference Starts Next Week in Las Vegas

WASHINGTON--Nov. 26, 2013: The IEEE International Conference on Connected Vehicles and Expo will gather global experts, practitioners and policymakers to present the latest innovations and findings on connected vehicles, share their insights, discuss economic, policy and social implications, and forecast trends and opportunities.

The event is set for 2-6 December at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. ICCVE

Connected vehicles use wireless modems and sensors to connect and communicate with, among other things, road infrastructure and systems, the cloud and other vehicles. Current technologies include speed-control accident avoidance, automated parallel parking and lane drifting correction. Future capabilities include autonomous self-driving vehicles.

ICCVE will feature 40 technical paper sessions and workshops, 10 summits, eight industry forums, demos, exhibits, tutorials and tours. Major topics include:

ICCVE registrants who arrive no later than 1 December can attend the 2014-Model Motor Trend International Auto Show at no additional charge. Motor Trend Auto Shows . The show will feature more than 350 new vehicles, test drives, exotics, alternative fuel vehicles, classics and more at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

ICCVE is cosponsored by more than 20 societies and organizations, including IEEE-USA. The first ICCVE was staged in Beijing in December 2012.
