HARRISBURG, PA--Oct. 2, 2013: Governor Tom Corbett announced today that Axalta Coating Systems, LLC will relocate its global and North American headquarters to southeastern Pennsylvania, committing to creating 332 high-paying jobs.

"My administration is working every day to bring new jobs to Pennsylvania – today we celebrate 332 new jobs coming to Philadelphia and Delaware County," Corbett said. "It's a sign we continue growing in the right direction and Pennsylvania's economy is on the rise. Global companies like Axalta want to establish their operations here, hire our workers and grow in the commonwealth."

Axalta will relocate its global headquarters to a 30,000-square-foot facility in Center City Philadelphia and its North American headquarters to a 55,000-square-foot facility in Concord Township, Delaware County. The combined project is expected to generate a capital investment in excess of $11.4 million, while initially creating 332 new jobs in the state.

The company received a funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development including a $1.3 million Pennsylvania First Program grant, and $996,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to assist with the company's global and North American headquarters move.

The project was coordinated by the Governor's Action Team, a group of economic development professionals who work directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, Delaware County Commerce Center, and Select Greater Philadelphia.

"All of us at Axalta are excited to come to Pennsylvania and become part of the greater Philadelphia community," Charles Shaver, Chairman and CEO of Axalta Coating Systems said. "Axalta, with revenues of $4.3 billion in 2012, became an independent company earlier this year. Establishing new locations for both our global and North American operations will support our platform for growth by helping to reinforce our autonomy to our customers and other key stakeholders."

Axalta is a leading global developer, manufacturer, marketer and distributor of innovative, high performance coatings for the automotive, transportation, general industrial and architectural and decorative industries. Axalta is owned by The Carlyle Group and has more than 12,000 employees worldwide.

"Axalta's move to Center City brings some 100 new jobs to Philadelphia and is yet another demonstration that companies are once again investing and creating jobs in our city," Mayor Michael A. Nutter said. "Whether big corporate headquarters, small neighborhood businesses, or entrepreneurs with new exciting ideas, businesses are starting, staying and growing in Philadelphia. I want to thank my own economic development team led by Deputy Mayor Alan Greenberger as well as Governor Corbett and his team for working together to make this deal happen."

"We are thrilled that the fifth-largest supplier of high performance coatings in the world has decided to locate their 200 plus employee North American headquarters in Concord Township," Chairman Tom McGarrigle of Delaware County Council said. "Governor Corbett and his Governor's Action Team should be commended for working in conjunction with our Delaware County Commerce Center and Concord Township officials to bring Axalta, with over 200 new jobs, to our county. My fellow members of Delaware County Council and I welcome Axalta and look forward to having them join our thriving and diverse business community."

"Select Greater Philadelphia is pleased to have helped Axalta Coating Systems grow in Greater Philadelphia," Thomas Morr, president and CEO of Select Greater Philadelphia said. "The entire region will benefit from the jobs that will be created and the supply chain opportunities that will occur thanks to having Axalta locate both its global and U.S. headquarters here."
