Renault Retail Group Appoints Michal Kalina As Managing Director

LONDON – Oct 2, 2013: Renault Retail Group has appointed Michal Kalina as its new Managing Director effective from September 2013 replacing Len Curran who has been appointed Managing Director for its European region.

Michal oversees Renault Retail Group’s Renault, Dacia and Nissan sites in the UK.

Michal Kalina (51 years old) is a Polish national born and raised in Warsaw. He attended the Warsaw University of Technology where he obtained an MSc. He joined Renault in 1991 as a Commercial Manager and went on to become the Commercial Operations Director of Renault Poland. Following nine years with Renault Poland he joined Renault Retail Group in the UK as the General Manager of Renault Enfield in 2000.

Michal then returned to Poland in 2003 and was first responsible for setting up Renault Retail Group operations in the country, later becoming its Managing Director.

“Michal’s vast experience of Renault Retail Group operations, including his previous experience in the UK market, will secure sound leadership in our largest dealer group in the UK” said Ken Ramirez, Managing Director of Renault UK, adding “His appointment coincides with the clear turning point of growth for Renault and Dacia in the market, for which the Renault Retail Group network plays an important role.”
