Tokyo--October 1, 2013: Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, is pleased to announce that the Subaru Forester has won the "Good Design Award 2013" from the Japan Industrial Design Promotion (JDP).

Comment from JDP Judge:

"This is an elaborately-created vehicle design embodying SUV elements which will fit all roads and conditions. Having stability, all-road-capability and versatility in one package, the car reflects the result of steady evolution achieved over the long-time pursuit of SUV simplicity and balance. The combination of stable handling and unwearying high-quality design, with features such as seats focusing on the fundamentals and highly-functional inside door handles, has resulted in a high level automobile design."

The Forester will be displayed at the Good Design Exhibition scheduled to be held from October 30 through November 4 at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi, Tokyo.
