PLACENTIA, CA--Deptember 17, 2013: Redline Detection, the industry leader in OEM-approved automotive diagnostic leak detection equipment, today announced it has been named a Motor Magazine Top 20 Tools Award winner for its OEM-approved diagnostic leak detector, the Smoke Pro Portable Leak Detector™.

“It is a great honor to have industry experts recognize Redline products for their technological innovation”

With its own onboard micro air compressor, Portable Leak Detector (PLD) eliminates the need for shop air and gas lines allowing technicians complete mobility in their dealership service centers and professional repair facilities. PLD is a fraction of the size and weight of old-fashioned EVAP testing machines and the newest technology available for clean, cost-efficient and contaminant-free diagnostics. It also gives technicians the ability to use an air-only cycle, mandated and recommended by many OEMs for EV and hybrid vehicle diagnostics, to make contaminant-free testing quick and easy.

Portable Leak Detector by Redline Detection was one of 20 tools chosen by MOTOR Magazine’s technical editors as an innovative product that helps make the jobs of professional shop owners and technicians easier and helps them fix their customers’ cars and light trucks more accurately and quickly. The continual development of such tools and equipment is essential for technicians to properly service today’s technologically advanced vehicles. Every year, MOTOR receives hundreds of entries for this prestigious award.

“It is a great honor to have industry experts recognize Redline products for their technological innovation,” said Zack Parker, president and CEO of Redline Detection. “We thank the editors of MOTOR and look forward to hearing many success stories from the field about how the Redline Detection Portable Leak Detector helped technicians improve diagnostic testing, prevent comebacks, and, in turn, increase the bottom line.”
