Chrysler Group Demonstrates Commitment to Identify, Recruit and Develop Diverse Future Business Leaders Through Exclusive Sponsorship of National Black MBA Association Student Case Competition
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 13, 2013: Company has been the exclusive sponsor of the competition since 1995, conducted annually at the National Black MBA Association's (NBMBAA) Annual Conference and Exposition Annual event enables talented, high-potential MBA candidates from the nation's leading business schools to compete for $50,000 in scholarships The team from Clark Atlanta University School of Business (GA) wins the 2013 competition, teams from Emory University (GA) and the University of St. Thomas (MN) finish second and third respectively Company receives the NBMBAA's Silver Torch Award for demonstrating its commitment to providing equal opportunities for qualified African American professionals
Talented MBA candidates from more than 30 of the nation's leading business schools competed for $50,000 in scholarships in the 2013 National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) Case Competition, sponsored by Chrysler Group LLC.
The NBMBAA®/Chrysler Group LLC Case Competition is an annual event designed to give high-powered student teams an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and problem-solving skills in a formal competition. Teams are given a hypothetical business case from which they develop business solutions. Each student team then prepares and presents its case before a panel of experienced business executives. Teams are judged on their analysis of the case, the feasibility of their recommendations and the quality of their presentations.
The competition is held each year as part of the NBMBAA's Annual Conference and Exposition, which was held this year in Houston, TX on September 11-13. Chrysler Group has been an active supporter of NBMBAA for more than 30 years and the exclusive sponsor of the Case Competition since 1995. Over that time, nearly 2,000 MBA students have participated in the competition.

"The competition is a premier showcase event for student achievement allowing Chrysler Group to demonstrate its continuing commitment to identifying, recruiting and developing strong talent and future business leaders."
This year, the students from the Clark Atlanta University took home the first place trophy as national champions and $25,000 in scholarships. The winning team members were Shermika Dunnerm, Amber Dyess and Keith Edmonds, all current MBA students. The second and third place teams represented Emory University and the University of St. Thomas, earning $15,000 and $10,000 in scholarships respectively. Winning teams were announced at an awards luncheon on September 13.
The business case for 2013 looked at the challenge of retail automotive marketing in an environment dominated increasingly by digital and social media communications platforms.
In recognition of Chrysler Group's more than 30-year partnership with the NBMBAA, the Company was awarded the organization's Silver Torch Award during the conference. This award is given each year to a company that "demonstrates commitment to the NBMBAA's programs and values and provides equal opportunities for qualified African American professionals."
