LONDON – Sept 10, 2013: Kia - who partnered with the England Women’s Cricket team during the Women’s Ashes Series - were delighted to put the team on the road to success by providing them with a fleet of sporty pro_cee’d GT during the series.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia commented “We were happy to help steer the England Women’s team to a great performance. The men and women’s teams have both had great success this year against Australia.

“Kia has forged strong links to the sport over the last few years with sponsorship of the Surrey team and the Kia Oval and now the England’s Women’s Team and we hope to continue to forge new relationships with the Women’s team in particular.”

England have regained the Ashes with a consistent performance in a tightly fought series that saw great cricket from both sides with England ultimately winning 12 – 4 on points. The multi-format series of one Test, three NatWest ODI’s and three NatWest T20s has been universally praised by players, media and spectators alike.

The partnership saw Kia provide a number of the all-new pro_cee’d GT cars during the series for the team to use to get to and from matches which certainly seemed to help the team get in the sporting mood before the games. Many of the team have tweeted how much they have liked the powerful 1.6 T-GDi sporty engine and performance of the cars.

The pro_cee’d GT has been designed, developed and built in Europe exclusively for European tastes at Kia’s European factory in Slovakia. The pro_cee’d GT is Kia’s first sporty hatchback to join the cee’d family – the five-door GT will be available in the UK in early 2014.

Kia are very proud of the team and wish them all the best in their upcoming matches against New Zealand and the West Indies in October.
