SYDNEY – Aug 15, 2013: Supermodel Jessica Gomes has joined the Volvo Cars Ambassador stable.

Gomes was welcomed at an exclusive Volvo Ambassador lunch held at Glass, Sydney, where she joined fellow Ambassadors Richard Wilkins, chef Luke Mangan, Wallaby rugby players James O’Connor and Tatafu-Polota-Nau, former Wallaby captain Rocky Elsom, FoxSport’s Matt Shirvington, and designer Matt Jensen, who owns fashion brand MJ Bale.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Jessica to the Volvo brand,” said Matt Braid, Volvo Car Australia Managing Director.

“Jess was able to join us at the launch of the All-New Volvo V40 back in March and saw first-hand where Volvo is heading – so we’re delighted she’s able to attend our inaugural Volvo Ambassador lunch, too.

“Volvo is at an incredibly exciting chapter of our growth here in Australia, not least with the announcement we’re going V8 Supercar racing in 2014, and the raft of new product launches that are coming through. To be able to share these exciting developments with our loyal and proactive Ambassador stable is fantastic.”

Perth-born Gomes, 27, who is also the new David Jones ambassador, is a force in the global fashion world, having done campaigns for Gap, DKNY Denim and Clinique, in addition to appearing in every Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition since 2008.

Volvo Ambassadors Dr Charlie Teo and actress Pia Miller were unable to attend the lunch due to existing overseas commitments.
