MELBOURNE – Aug 6, 2013: Just over a year since going on sale in Australia, Subaru has sold its 1000th BRZ sports coupe online.

The multi-award winning BRZ is still in huge demand, with the waiting list currently out to December.

More than 26 per cent of BRZs have been sold in Sydney region, followed by Brisbane with nearly 16 per cent and Melbourne almost 15 per cent.

Due to limited supply resulting from massive international demand, BRZ continues to be sold exclusively online in Australia, with customers nominating their preferred delivering dealership.

The most nominated dealer has been Subaru Interactive@Docklands, in Melbourne, which has delivered 66 BRZs, followed by Jarvis Subaru, Adelaide, with 50; Tynan Motors, Sutherland, NSW with 39; Toowong Subaru, Queensland, with 34 and Penrith Subaru, NSW and Subaru Wangara, Western Australia, both with 33.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “We could probably have sold double the number of BRZs if we’d had access to more production, but the level of interest in BRZ has continued pretty much at the same pace since day one.

“It’s a great credit to Fuji Heavy Industries for producing such a fine driver’s car, which has been recognised with so many awards both locally and overseas.”

Subaru recently introduce a BRZ S option, adding a suite of factory-backed parts and accessories, which has sparked even more interest among BRZ enthusiasts.

Only last week BRZ won another Australian automotive honour, being named by motoring.com.au in its 2013 “Recommends” awards as one of its preferred performance cars under $100,000.
