LOS ANGELES--August 3, 2013: Los Angeles based advertising agency Pitch announced today that their "Twestimate" campaign for AOR client Maaco was featured in Twitter's Advertising Blog as a hashtag campaign to watch. As part of its rebranding efforts, Maaco the collision repair and auto painting chain, is getting a makeover with the help of Pitch who has implemented a robust plan to rescue drivers after an accident in real-time. After an accident, @Maacover responded to tweets with the #Twestimate hashtag within 20 minutes, providing a free repair estimate and a 10 percent off coupon valid at Maaco locations. Since the campaign launched in April, Maaco has provided more than 150 Twestimates and garnered more than 500,000 media impressions.

“We created Twestimates to make it easier for consumers to get a cost estimate sooner than anticipated and to alleviate the stress associated with an accident”

With more than 500 stores in the US and more than 40 years in the auto repair business, Maaco partnered with Pitch to find ways to appeal to the social community and to connect with consumers by simplifying the process of auto paint and repair while infusing a warmer voice and inviting personality.

"Twestimates has been a great example of a brand successfully monetizing on their rebranding campaign and social media presence through an innovative, creative idea. Understanding the role that social media plays, Maaco is able to serve a niche community and provide consumers with a quick and convenient way to address the needs of drivers at any time and in any place," said Rachel Spiegelman, President at Pitch.

To better understand and meet the needs of drivers nowadays, Pitch discovered that if people didn't repair their cars within five days of sustaining damage, the likelihood of ever repairing their car decreases exponentially. Smartphones have eliminated the delay it takes to take your car in to a repair shop and allows drivers to capture issues on the road providing the convenience to determine their needs immediately.

"We created Twestimates to make it easier for consumers to get a cost estimate sooner than anticipated and to alleviate the stress associated with an accident," said Xanthe Wells, Executive Creative Director of Pitch. "We designed the program for the real-time nature of Twitter because it provides a unique platform for Maaco to connect with consumers at the precise moment they would need it the most -- right after an accident."
