EAST BOSTON, MA--July 28, 2013: Good Sports, a national nonprofit organization, and GEICO teamed up to support East Boston Girls Softball by providing them with a variety of new softball equipment, including catchers' gear, bases, bats and cleats. Recently, this organization has seen a dramatic decline in funding but a very strong interest in participation from girls in the surrounding communities. This donation will help provide safe, reliable equipment and in turn create opportunities for more girls to play.

The donation is part of an ongoing community partnership between Good Sports and GEICO that will help bring new equipment and resources to youth sports organizations in Massachusetts through 2014.
"Our goal is to ensure all kids have the opportunity to engage in sports and fitness and all the benefits that go along with those opportunities," said Christy Keswick, chief operating officer at Good Sports. To date, our partnership with GEICO has generated over $63,000 in value for Massachusetts and impacted nearly 2,000 kids.
