CLEVELAND--July 18, 2013: Applied Industrial Technologies has been recognized as one of Honda's top suppliers for Maintenance, Repair and Operational (MRO) services. Applied received the 2013 MRO Supplier of the Year Award for supporting Honda's manufacturing operations in Ohio and Indiana in the business category of Power Transmission products and services.

The Honda Supplier of the Year Award goes to the top performing company in various business categories that support Honda automobile manufacturing facilities. Award selection criteria is based on excellence in safety, quality, cost, delivery and management of MRO products and services. More than 5,000 MRO suppliers provide Honda plants with a wide range of goods and services, but only one from each business category may be selected for this prestigious supplier award. This year, Applied was one of only 10 suppliers receiving distinction within their respective category.

"It's an honor to achieve this exemplary status with Honda," says Tom Armold, Vice President – Marketing and Strategic Accounts, Applied Industrial Technologies. "Our dedication to providing quality products and value-added services has built a trusted partnership that is driving joint success."

In 1982 Honda became the first Japanese automaker to begin automobile production in the U.S. and has expanded production to include 14 manufacturing facilities in North America. In 2012, 90 percent of the Honda and Acura automobiles sold in the U.S. were produced in North America.
