AMSTERDAM--July 11, 2013: Global car rental provider Hertz Corporation and TomTom have extended their business partnership to offer enhanced navigation solutions to Hertz customers across Europe by introducing the NeverLost 5 GPS system. NeverLost navigation devices can be booked in advance when making a reservation at local hertz websites or by phone.

“TomTom is delighted to be extending its partnership with Hertz. This partnership we will give over two million rental drivers across Europe every year a navigation experience they can trust.”

Michel Taride, Group RAC President Hertz International, commented: "We are committed to giving our customers a superior service, and we know that with the NeverLost 5 navigation devices, we will be offering rental drivers an enhanced driving experience. The devices are being made available to Hertz customers in over 700 major airports and cities across 18 countries in Europe."

The NeverLost 5 portable system features an easy-to-use touchscreen, turn-by-turn directions in 45 languages, and a large database of pre-programmed locations, allowing customers to navigate with confidence.

Over 8,000 units of the new navigation device will be rolled-out over the next 24 months, with scope to increase this number yet further. This is more than double the volume of the NeverLost 4 partnership deal between Hertz and TomTom in 2011.

Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director, TomTom, added: "TomTom is delighted to be extending its partnership with Hertz. This partnership we will give over two million rental drivers across Europe every year a navigation experience they can trust."

The Hertz NeverLost 5 system is available in: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

Specially designed for Hertz customers, the Hertz NeverLost satellite navigation system was initially launched in Europe in November 2005.
