June Another Record Breaking Month for Mitsubishi Motors

SYDNEY – July 5, 2013: Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) continues on its path of growth, following strong April and May results with a 42% increase on June 2012, a best-ever recorded import sales result for the importer.

VFACTS figures show June 2013 retail sales of 9,257; which is not only an all-time record for June import sales but the best ever recorded total for any import month result.

The first six months of sales (Jan-June) has recorded 37,329 units and sees MMAL record the largest import result for the period of any previous year, with a number of key models driving the growth.

June 2013 sales highlights:

  • Mirage - sales of 1,501, its best ever import result in any month.
  • Lancer - sales result of 1,753 is this key model’s best month since June 2011.
  • Triton’s 3,456 units is an all-time record month for Triton, with total Triton YTD volume of 13,054 units the best Jan-June result on record for the range..
  • Outlander - 1,251 units is the best June result on record for Outlander.

    MMAL's Passenger volume in June exceeded 3,000 units (total Pass volume = 3,254 units) with both Mirage (1,501) and Lancer (1,753) being strong contributors.

    Again, MMAL’s strength in the SUVs segment has resulted in an outstanding June result of 2,542, an all-time record June. The Jan-June 2013 volume for both SUV (12,378 units) and LCV (13,285 units) was an all-time first half record in both cases.
