Old Dominion Freight Line Increases Expectations for Growth in Second-Quarter Tonnage Per Day to Range of 5.0% to 5.5%

THOMASVILLE, NC--June 7, 2013: Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. today updated its expectations for growth in second-quarter 2013 tonnage per day and revenue per hundredweight, excluding fuel surcharges, in preparation for its attendance at the Deutsche Bank Global Industrials and Basic Materials Conference on Thursday, June 13, 2013. The Company expects its growth in tonnage per day to increase in a range of 5.0% to 5.5% compared to the second quarter of 2012, versus its previous expectation of an increase in a range of 4.5% to 5.0%. Supporting this increase, average tonnage per day increased at a rate of 5.7% for April and 5.8% for May, compared to the same months in 2012. In addition, Old Dominion affirmed its expectation for an increase in revenue per hundredweight, excluding fuel surcharges, in a range of 1.5% to 2.0% as compared to the second quarter of 2012.
