Darga Named Executive Director At Historic Ford Piquette Avenue Plant

DETROIT--May 8, 2013: Nancy Darga has been appointed executive director of the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant museum and education center established to preserve the Detroit birthplace of the Model T.

Open to the public from April through October, the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is located at 461 P­iquette Ave. in the heart of the MotorCities National Heritage Area.

Prior to joining the museum, Darga had served as chief of design for the Wayne County Park System's Parks Division. Most recently she had been managing director of the MotorCities National Heritage Area.

A resident of Northville, Mich., she is a co-founder of the Ford Heritage Trail, a program designed to preserve the historic village-industry plants located within the Wayne County Park System. She has been honored as Public Servant of the Year by the Public Administration Foundation.

Darga holds a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Michigan State University.
