ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – May 3, 2013: Audi Australia’s fast start to 2013 continues apace, with the most successful April in the brand’s history, following strong first-quarter growth. Sales continue to move ahead of last year, with Audi now up by 21.8 percent compared to the first four months of 2012.

Audi Australia’s Managing Director, Andrew Doyle, is delighted that the company’s fast start to 2013 has continued into the second quarter of the year.

“Strong growth in such a fiercely competitive premium retail environment is a good signal that Audi is heading towards clear growth over 2012. Our target this year is to deliver an all-time record of more than 15,000 new cars to customers and this result is certainly demonstrating that we are on the right track,” said Mr Doyle.

“Our outstanding new Audi Q3 is leading its segment thanks to contemporary design, performance and versatility, and in general our SUV range offering is proving highly desirable for premium buyers, however we have strong new models on the way which will also deliver growth for Audi. The Australian launch of the all-new Audi A3 Sportback is at the end of the month.

“The all-new A3 Sportback offers features from the luxury class and a standard of finish never seen before in this segment. The new range will now be within the reach of more buyers than ever before, with a starting price of just $35,600 and with the all new A3, we look forward to continuing our strong growth trend in 2013 with the launch of this vitally important new model.”

With total sales of 1,221 in April 2013, the result eclipses Audi Australia’s previous April record of 1,067 units in 2011. Audi Australia has sold 5,285 vehicles so far in 2013, which is 21.8 percent more than during the same period in 2012.
