CAMPBELL, CA & DANVERS, MA--May 4, 2013: ChargePoint, the world's largest network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and the services division of North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA today announced a reseller agreement. Under terms of the agreement SYLVANIA Lighting Services (SLS), a subsidiary of OSRAM SYLVANIA and leader in lighting installation and energy management solutions, will sell and install commercial and public ChargePoint EV charging stations in the United States. SYLVANIA Lighting Services is an established ChargePoint installer, having recently installed 33 EV charging stations in the City of Austin, Texas.

“We are proud to work closely with ChargePoint, the largest global EV network. These charging stations provide ease of use that addresses customer needs, benefits the environment and helps achieve corporate sustainability goals.”

"We are pleased to extend our relationship with SYLVANIA Lighting Services to provide turnkey end-to-end EV charging services," said Pat Romano, president and CEO of ChargePoint, Inc. "Customers looking for a complete EV solution now have an all-inclusive sales and installation process providing a single point of contact, full client consultation, hardware and software application, materials installation and post-install support from SLS."

"As more and more EVs are introduced in the market, we are seeing great demand for EV charging infrastructure," said Salvatore Manganaro, SLS EVI National Account Manager, OSRAM SYLVANIA. "We are proud to work closely with ChargePoint, the largest global EV network. These charging stations provide ease of use that addresses customer needs, benefits the environment and helps achieve corporate sustainability goals."

SLS-installed EV charging stations provide cloud-based charging services via ChargePoint, the largest network of independently owned charging stations in the world. ChargePoint provides everything station owners need to deliver charging services in their parking lots and facilities. For EV drivers, ChargePoint-enabled locations are included on all ChargePoint applications for Android and iPhone mobile devices. These ChargePoint mobile apps provide an easy way to locate stations near any specified address, get turn-by-turn directions, and start and stop a charging session directly from a smart phone. Additionally, these mobile apps allow drivers to utilize ChargePoint's station reservation feature. Drivers can locate reservable stations, and then make, view and cancel a reservation directly from a smart phone.

In addition, OSRAM SYLVANIA announced it has joined the U.S. Department of Energy's Workplace Charging Challenge, part of the agency's EV Everywhere Grand Challenge, which aims to expand the availability of workplace charging for American workers, increasing the convenience of EVs and providing drivers with more options.

"The market for energy-efficient and electric vehicles is expanding dramatically, giving drivers and businesses more options to save money on fuel while reducing carbon pollution," said former Energy Secretary Steven Chu.

The Workplace Charging Challenge is a collaborative effort to increase the number of United States employers offering workplace charging by tenfold in the next five years. The Challenge also supports the broader efforts of the EV Everywhere Grand Challenge, announced last year by President Obama, to make EVs as affordable and convenient for the American family as gasoline-powered vehicles within the next 10 years. OSRAM SYLVANIA unveiled a dual, Level II EV Charging Station at its Danvers, Massachusetts headquarters last fall.
