Fiat Chrysler Group appoints new Marketing Director

SYDNEY – April 30, 2013: Fiat Chrysler Group Australia has announced the appointment of Mark McCraith as Director of Marketing, further strengthening the new-look management team.

Effective May 1, the marketing function, which has been a major contributor to the recent success of the Group’s business, will be divided into two distinct areas – Brand Strategy & Creative and Digital Architecture.

The Brand Strategy & Creative team will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy, sponsorships, events and advertising for the Group. This team will be led by Mr McCraith, who joins the management team from media agency, Maxus, where he held the role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his role at Maxus, Mr McCraith was Managing Director at the media agency MindShare.

Outgoing Director of Marketing, Sam Tabart, becomes responsible for Digital Architecture. Mr Tabart has been instrumental in growing the business over the past two years, especially in the digital area and now fulfils a long held wish to consult to the business in a purely digital capacity.

“Mark’s extensive experience in media agencies, coupled with his experience in the automotive space, makes him the obvious choice to lead our marketing activity to the next stage of growth” said Veronica Johns, incoming CEO and President of Fiat Chrysler Group Australia.

“Sam leaves the business with some highly successful campaigns as a lasting legacy for the Fiat Chrysler Group brands in Australia, including ‘I Bought a Jeep’,” said Johns.

“He will continue to work with the Group in his capacity as a consultant, developing digital platforms to compliment the work Mark and his team will deliver,” she added
