Leviton Receives $1 Million Funding to Install Electric Vehicle Charging Stations throughout New York

MELVILLE, NY--April 22, 2013: Leviton has been awarded a $1 million grant to install electric vehicle charging stations across the state of New York in an effort to support Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's "Charge NY" initiative.

Utilizing the company's Evr-Green Dual Port Level 2 Charging Stations, Leviton will help enable electric vehicle charging at various workplaces throughout Upstate New York, New York City and Long Island.

The total $3.6 million project is funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the New York Power Authority (NYPA). Through the Charge NY initiative, Governor Cuomo hopes to create a network of 3,000 public and workplace charging stations across the state over the next five years and encourage more electric vehicles on the road.
