SYDNEY – April 16, 2013: Fiat Chrysler Group (FCG) is excited to announce that former rugby league international and premiership winning player Dean Young is the latest Brand Ambassador for Jeep.

The appointment stems from FCG’s recent sponsorship of the Dragons which was formed from the alliance of the Jeep and Alfa Romeo brands - Jeep becoming above-number sponsor and Alfa Romeo becoming rear-shorts sponsor.

Sam Tabart, Director of Marketing at Fiat Chrysler Jeep, said “Dean is a great role model and a perfect fit for the Jeep brand”.

Despite the St George Illawarra, New South Wales and Australian representative player hanging up the boots at the end of the 2012 NRL season due to a significant knee injury, Young is still heavily involved with many aspects of the club, and is often referred to as the ‘Heart and Soul’ of the Dragons.

“Dean really does embody the Jeep mantra, Don’t Hold Back. He continues to inspire his peers on and off the field, and we’re really looking forward to him representing our Jeep brand” Tabart said.

Young plays an integral part in junior development and coaching across the various Dragons Community, and from now on will drive these initiatives and programs in a Jeep Grand Cherokee!
