Background About Natural Gas Vehicles

Compressed Natural Gas is the world's leading solution for alternative fuel vehicles. At the end of 2012 there were more than 16 million natural gas vehicles on the road worldwide. It typically costs $1.25-$2.00 per gallon to fuel a CNG vehicle in the US. A CNG upgrade typically reduces CO2 emissions on a vehicle by around 30%. While CNG vehicles are in widespread use around the world, in the United States there are fewer than 200,000 on the road. Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) offer significant economic and environmental benefits and offer the potential to substantially accelerate America's goal of achieving energy independence by using America's abundant natural gas instead of oil. The US is expected to be the fastest growing NGV market in the world in 2013.
