CIRENCESTER, UNITEDKINGDOM - Marc 29, 2013: Mitsubishi has underlined its position as a manufacturer of choice for the UK’s specialist fleet operators with a record number of new vehicle orders.

The carmaker’s state-of-the-art Specialist Vehicle Operations Centre, which refits, adapts and upgrades standard Mitsubishi models to meet individual client requirements, is entering its busiest period ever.

Over the next three months, the Cirencester-based operation will turn out more high-spec vehicles than it does in the average year, taking on additional skilled staff and adding new shifts to keep pace with growing demand.

Currently MSVO’s (Mitsubishi Specialist Vehicle Operations) bulging order book boasts commissions from an array of high profile fleet operators including the Environment Agency, National Grid and Ministry of Defence.

These orders are spread across the Mitsubishi range, with models including the L200 pick-up, Outlander SUV and ASX crossover being fitted with everything from blue-light conversions to chemical decontamination kits.

And the recent launch of the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander and the launch of the low emission all-new Mitsubishi Mirage supermini − coupled with the growing reputation of MSVO − means things are likely to get even busier.

A delighted Clive Messenger, Head of Fleet at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, believes the increasing level of orders clearly demonstrates the brand is now the preferred supplier for many operators. He said:

“The fact we are entering our busiest period ever proves Mitsubishi is now ticking all the boxes with specialist fleet operators everywhere.

“Firstly, we now have an outstanding model line-up with a diverse range of powerful yet efficient engines, superb reliability and residuals and long warranties.

“But the fact we offer our specialist fleet refits ‘in-house’ is a major selling point. No-one knows better than the manufacturer what can and can’t be done, no third parties need to be involved and the whole process is nicely joined up.

“As a result we are now enjoying a great deal of repeat business from fleet operators who have appreciated working with us and who know first hand we are able to make the whole process ordering, spec’ing and converting a vehicle hassle-free, seamless and cost-effective.”
