VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Marc 22, 2013: News Limited today announced Nissan as the naming rights partner for SuperCoach.

Nissan SuperCoach is a free, multi-platform, interactive fantasy competition that allows Australians to be coach and selector of their very own AFL or NRL team for the 2013 season. SuperCoach engages up to 570,000 registered players each year.

“The sponsorship of Nissan SuperCoach allows us to integrate the Nissan brand and our messaging of Innovation and Excitement in a platform that also delivers on these brand pillars, engaging the user and putting them in the driving seat of their team and its performance throughout the season,” said Nissan Australia Executive General Manager – Marketing Peter Clissold.

As part of the sponsorship and in addition to naming rights, Nissan receives significant advertising and brand integration opportunities.

This is the first time there has been one major SuperCoach partner across the NRL and AFL codes.

Nissan is also sponsoring a SuperRound prize, awarding a Nissan Navara to the highest scoring individual round score across both codes.

“Nissan SuperCoach provides a highly-targeted environment for footy lovers nationally,” said News Limited Network Sport Publisher Tom Salom.

“The NRL and AFL have huge fan bases and to be able to be part of the games in this way is exciting for punters.

“We’ve launched the 2013 game with more features, a more cohesive look and feel and a fresh redesign increasing engagement and enhancing the experience for users.

“I’m pleased that Nissan has come on board as a naming rights sponsor for our new-look game. With Nissan, I am looking forward to a successful year enjoying the game with punters and fans alike.”

Following integration with its AFL counterpart in 2012, the 2013 Nissan NRL SuperCoach program, has also been merged with Fox Sports’ Fantasy Rugby League game making it the largest fantasy program in Australia with touch points across digital, broadcast, mobile and print.

Nissan SuperCoach also has integrated both iPhone and Android Apps for each code available at $2.99, with each currently the two most downloaded sports Apps in both stores.
