MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – Marc 19, 2013: On Sunday 31st March at 11.00am, four retired avid Suzuki fans will begin a 28,000 mile fundraising tour around the world in aid of Save the Children and the Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington, Hampshire.

The expedition, masterminded by retired businessman Les Carvall will start from the Novotel at Southampton in just 11 days from now on Easter Sunday. The big idea originally came about after Les admired a large convoy of classic cars driving past him on the Paris – Peking Rally. Since that day two years ago, Les has tirelessly set up the huge logistical project virtually unaided and the team of four men who are all in their Seventies will travel alone with no frills, luxuries or even a support crew.

The progress through 16 countries and across three continents will be monitored by Yellowbrick Tracker with updates to the website being added four times a day. As with any charity project, all donations would be gratefully accepted and a Just Giving page has been set up on heavencanwaitimbusy.com, Progress can also be followed on facebook and twitter.

Jimnys were chosen for the trip as the team wanted to prove that the mammoth five month journey could be achieved in low cost 4x4 vehicles which have a very strong record of durability around the world.

To prove the reliability of Jimny, the crew will be travelling in two new cars which will be of largely standard specification apart from additional luggage racks, All Terrain tyres, modified springs and dampers and heavy duty front and rear bumpers.

There will be a bon voyage reception for the crew at the Novotel on West Quay Road, Southampton at 10.00am on Sunday, 31st March, all welcome.
