SYDNEY – Feb 19, 2013: To celebrate their annual MAX RUN CHALLENGE fuel economy run, Isuzu UTE Australia has introduced a limited edition D-MAX, the X-RUNNER.

On sale now in limited numbers, the X-RUNNER is based on an Isuzu D-MAX 4x4 LS-U and is finished in unique silky pearl white metallic paint, and comes complete with a three-piece hard tonneau cover, black sports bar, tub liner, carpet mats and unique X-RUNNER decals.

Representing $4,500 in added-value, the X-RUNNER is covered by Isuzu UTE’s new five-year ‘bumper to bumper’ warranty and five-year Roadside Assistance program.

The X-RUNNER is priced at $46,990 drive-away.

Held annually, Isuzu UTE’s MAX RUN CHALLENGE competition encourages the public to guess how many kilometres an Isuzu D-MAX will travel on one tank of diesel. This year, Isuzu UTE ambassadors Bruce Garland and Harry Suzuki, will push an automatic 4x2 LS Crew Cab Ute to its limits, starting off in South East Queensland and heading South West – they’ll travel as far as they can make it on one tank.

The D-MAX’s previous fuel economy record was set in 2009, when a D-MAX 4x2 Crew Cab Ute Low Ride manual travelled a colossal 1716.3km from Far North Queensland into South Australia, on just one tank of diesel. This included 175kms across harsh outback gravel, at an average fuel consumption of just 4.428 litres/100km.
