VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Jan 22,2012: Acclaimed entertainer and international DJ, Ruby Rose has staked an early claim for the Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge title at the 2013 Formula 1Ž Australian Grand Prix.

The much loved media identity took her time inspecting the first All-New Mazda6 in full race livery - complete with roll cage and racing seat - at a special unveiling at Albert Park today.

Rose joins a list of other big name celebrities already announced for the Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge including Britain’s greatest ever Olympian Sir Chris Hoy, former Collingwood player Chris Tarrant, model Rachel Finch and celebrity chef Shane Delia.

The model and part time amateur boxer was quick to quip a few of her fellow drivers not from sporting backgrounds, but said it was the three Gold Medallists in the field she was most worried about.

“Last year I took up competitive boxing and if I can channel that into the racing, not the violent stuff of course, then I’ve probably got a pretty good shot,” said Rose. “I want to beat everybody because I always want to be number one, but really everyone with a Gold Medal I expect to come in front of me.”

The Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge will feature 20 vehicles and will bring together celebrities from a wide variety of backgrounds and disciplines to compete at Melbourne’s spectacular Albert Park street circuit during the 2013 Formula 1Ž Australian Grand Prix.

Confirmed drivers for the 2013 Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge include:

  • Sir Chris Hoy MBE
  • Matthew Cowdrey OAM
  • Anna Meares OAM
  • Em Rusciano
  • Mark Beretta
  • Rachel Finch
